Bright Stars

Welcome to Bright Stars after-school club provided by St. Margaret Ward Catholic Primary School. We aim to provide a happy, relaxed, caring and fun environment where your child can play and unwind after school. Below is some information we hope you will find useful:

Opening Times:

The club is open Monday-Friday 3.20-5.45pm term–time only.

Three times per year, when school closes at 1.30pm at the end of each full term, Bright Stars will remain open until 4.00pm.

Booking a Place:

Due to its popularity, we have only a limited number of places available. For a regular daily/weekly place, you will need to phone the office and ask for a bo0king form to be sent. Once you have submitted the form, you will be contacted (usually by text) to either confirm the place or be notified that your child is on the waiting list. Submitting the form does not guarantee a place.

It’s sometimes possible to book a one-off place on the day or in advance. You can check availability for this by phoning Mrs Shaw or Mrs Murray in the school office on: 0161 969 9852

You will need to complete a registration form before your child can attend the club.

Charges:

Each session costs £11.00 per child (£8 for siblings) which includes a healthy snack. However, if you collect your child before 4.30 pm the cost of the half session is £8 per child, which includes the snack.

Payments:

Fees are payable in advance please using the school’s ParentPay facility (under Bright Stars) - ask at the office for details. We accept some childcare vouchers, please enquire at the office for details.

Cancellations

If your child has a regular, block booking, their place(s) will need to be paid for, whether or not they they are used. This means that even if you need to cancel your booking on the day or in advance, you will still need to pay for the place. The exception is if your child is unwell and you let us know before 9.30am when reporting their school absence. You will not have to pay for their place at Bright Stars on that day- please notify staff when you phone to report your child absence. Block bookings can be altered half-termly only.

Collecting Children:

You can collect your child at any time during the session, but we ask that all children are collected before 5.45pm. Failure to do so may result in charges being made to cover staffing costs etc. These are charged at £1.00 per minute, per child until 6.00pm and then £5 per every part of 15 minutes thereafter. Please also be aware that if you are late on three occasions, we may withdraw your child’s place with immediate effect.

In line with the school’s policy, children from Nursery to Year 2 inclusive, must be collected by an adult over the age of 18. Children in Years 3-6 may be collected by a high school child. Please make sure to list on the registration form all of the people who are permitted to collect your child as we will not allow them to leave with anyone without your permission. If your collection arrangements change at short notice, please be sure to phone us to let us know.
